Corporate social responsibility is an integral element of Delta’s day to day operations. We align our core business activities with our social investment programs. As a result, we have chosen to focus on three main sectors:
1.Beautification and Public Service Buildings Reform
Delta has implemented several beautification, infrastructure development and reformation projects. Delta took on the responsibility of refurbishing different areas in Alexandria and Sharm El Sheikh in order to boost tourism and other commerce in both cities. Those projects included public schools, main roads, residential buildings..Etc and Delta assumed the responsibility of all the cost budged for each initiative. The projects are listed below:
Al-Fayrouze Public School Renovation –Sharm El Sheikh
As part of Delta’s responsibility towards the education sector, in 2008, we partnered with the local governorate in Sinai to renovate Al-Fayrouze public school. It is considered one of the most deprived schools in Sinai. Our construction team renovated the buildings, and did all the maintenance for the buildings infrastructure.
Al-Lotus Square- Sharm El Sheikh
As part of our beautification program and in support to the local municipality efforts to redecorate Al Lotus Area in Sharm El Sheik in 1998, Delta Egypt has designed, and constructed Al Lotus square which has the design of Al Lotus flower. Delta also constructed several rest benches stations to serve the local community as well as tourists.
Alexandria Cornish Development Initiative- Alexandria
In partnership with the governorate of Alexandria’s efforts to renovate and redecorate the main roads in Alexandria, Delta Egypt has for three consecutive years managed the renovation, maintenance and painting of all the buildings located on the main Cornish road of Alexandria.
Low-income housing Renovation of Al Nour Buildings and Al Hadaba Area - Sharm El Shiekh
In 1999, Delta Egypt took the responsibility of renovating and resorting Al- Nour and Al Hadba area Buildings which are considered low income housing facilities and they located in Southern Sinai governorate.
Al-Gaaza, Sidi Gaber, Al Salam, Al Gaaza and Zizina Squares Construction
In 2000 and as part of our responsibility towards using our core business in social and environmental development, Delta designed, and constructed several squares in the governorate of Southern Sinai and Alexandria. Those squares included Sidi Gaber Square Zizinia Square, Mostafa Kamel and Al Salam Squares in Alexandria governorate and Al Gaaza square in Sharm EL Sheikh.
Renovating Sharm El Sheikh Local Municipality Building
In 2006, Delta Egypt renovated and restored the local municipality building in Sharm El Sheikh as part of its responsibility towards its partners.
2. Environmental Protection
As part of our environmental responsibility, we have managed to calculate the amount of water we use at Delta Sharm Resort. The water consumption of the resort annually has been estimated to be 1200M3. As a result, we have established a water purifying station to recycle our used water and reuse it in plantation and greenery of the resort.
3. Charity
At Delta, we believe that charity sponsorship can bring genuine and lasting benefits to our company; from public perception to employee motivation, making it in a company's own interests to move towards increasing their social responsibility. As a result, we have dedicated a special budget to be donated to different NGOs and charity causes.
Ramadan Annual Donations :
Delta Egypt contributes annually to the most underprivileged community living in the governorate of South Sinai. The donations usually are given In Cash and In-Kind to different families who live under the poverty line. The In Kind donations are food packages that are packed by our employees and delivered to the poor during the Holy month of Ramadan.
Donations to 57357 Cancer Hospital :
In 2008, Delta Egypt donated to the 57357 cancer hospital to support in the fundraising initiative to provide treatment for children at need.
Donations to Major Crisis Survivors :
As part of its responsibility towards its community, Delta regularly contributes financially to crisis survivors with cash donations. In 2008, Delta supported the victims’ families and survivors of Al Matafi famous accident.
Supporting Orphans :
In 2007 Delta partnered with Resala NGO to improve the living conditions of the orphans. The partnership included In Cash donation to Resala to cover the living expenses of a number of orphans including school fees, clothes…etc.

Dr. Aly Elba Foundation for Social Development
Delta will actively pursue its role as a good corporate citizen and acknowledge its responsibility to work in partnership with the communities in which it operates. In order to promote the full extent of Delta’s social investment program, Dr. Aly Elba Foundation was established in 1999. The scope of the foundation is mainly focused on the cash donations to the poor and vulnerable families residing in the governorate of Alexandria.
